Our Services

Tailored services customized to your health care journey

We offer a wide range of patient advocacy services to meet the needs of complex and routine care journeys. Patients often come to us to serve as a trusted advisor when interacting with the health care system. We are able to provide routine (and not so routine) services such as coordinating with your care team, accompanying you to appointments, locating clinical trials, or arranging for a second opinion. Because care needs change, we are organized in a nimbly and responsibly to best meet your needs in timely and compassionate manner.

Full-Spectrum Advocacy Services

Each client has unique needs and experiences each phase of the care journey differently. For this reason, we build a “Whole You” advocacy plan to meet you where you are. Some clients engage us for a narrow purpose, others need a more comprehensive level of service. Our independent and boutique plans allow us to offer specialized, tailored health care advocacy to our clients.  We further invite you to learn more about our services below.

Care Cordination

Provider Liaison

Evidence shows that care outcomes are enhanced when patients and providers effectively communicate. We serve as a liaison between you and your care team, making sure that everyone is on the same page and that your providers are in sync with one another.

Special Circumstances

Health care is unpredictable and fast moving. We are here to make sure that you are advocated for as special circumstances arise. Whether its setting a discharge plan with your care team after an unexpected procedure, or helping to arrange care downtown or across the country, we're here for you, on your terms.

Plan of Care Review

Medical jargon and complicated terminology should not stand between you and your health care. We carefully explain and review plans of care in lay terms and guide you through each step of the process. As we are not constrained by strict appointment times, we have the luxury of a slow and through review, on your terms.

Insurance & Billing Navigation

Bill Navigation

While we are not a medical billing advocate per se, we often find ourselves lending our expertise in matters concerning patient care billing. Whether it's working with you to plan talking points with a health care organization's patient accounts team or reviewing bills in detail, we can help keep things organized and keep things as simple as possible given the circumstances.

Insurance Navigation

Health insurance is ever changing and becoming increasingly complex. We can help you make sense of the sometimes senseless information associated with health insurance. We can help to clarify insurance coverage, explain commonly-received documents such as explanation of benefits and/or denial of coverage letters, and also, when asked, work with you to navigate the medicare // medicaid enrollment process. As we do not sell insurance products and are not a financial advisor, we're free of most conflicts and independent of the insurance system.

Complex Cases

In cases of prolonged hospitalization or a diagnosis of chronic illness, billing and insurance are often more complicated. We can help you to make sense of the process, coaching you each step of the way.

Complex Case Management

Intensive Care Navigation

In times of medical crisis, it helps to have a neutral third party at your side. We regularly help patients and their families during acute and intensive health care journeys, advocating on their behalf to make sure they are well taken care of. Given our vast network of resources, we are able to lighten your load during an otherwise intense period of your life.

Clinical Trial Discovery

Many health systems offer clinical trials to help us live healthier. Volunteers play a key role in the clinical trial process and may have access to novel treatment options. As participation in a clinical trial is a major life decision, it helps to have someone on your side to navigate the process. In coordination with your care team, we are able to help patients locate clinical trials which they may be qualified to participate in and explain the process in a thorough manner.

Second Opinion Liaison

Getting a second (or sometimes third) opinion is often helpful when making a critical decision surrounding your care. We can explain the second opinion process, including implications to your care plan, and review the proposed plan of care together with you and the care team. We often arrange for expert conferences where providers conference about your case and ensure that your whole care team is on the same page.

Decision Support

Treatment Analysis

When patents are presented with many treatment options, feelings of angst and worry may cloud objectivity. While we cannot, and do not make decisions for you, we can help to keep you on track, analyzing care plans and treatment options together with you.

Care Conference

At critical points in your treatment process, it makes sense for everyone to connect and converse. We facilitate the care conference process, working as a mediator and advocate to make sure everyone is equipped to proceed to the next stage in your care journey.

Literature Review

When patients receive a difficult complex diagnosis, it may be advantageous for their care for a comprehensive literature review to occur. We can arrange this, enlisting subject matter experts to lead this process.

Your Independent Advocate

While patients often may have access to a care advocate as part of their hospital stay or insurance program, they often come with “strings attached.” We are an independent organization that remains unconstrained by the arcane and bureaucratic procedures which may adversely impact patient care. That said, we are all on the same team and happily work in collaboration with our facility or insurance based advocate counterparts.

Proudly independent, she remains unconstrained by red tape or politics, providing her clients with a high-touch level of service which are always aligned with a patient’s best interest. Her passion for health care advocacy was realized after her daughter was hospitalized for major, life-threatening complications arising from an otherwise routine surgery.

Experiencing the many challenges that illnesses bring to a patient and their families and the lack of support they receive from the system at-large, Aimee underwent rigorous training at the University of Miami, ultimately obtaining her BCPA credential.

Fusing an evidence-based approach to patient care advocacy with practical tips and tricks learned during her own personal health care journey as a spinal patient having undergone many significant surgeries, she is uniquely qualified to provide effective counsel on behalf of patients with even the most complex diagnoses. Aimee provides services which include, but not limited to: care coordination, insurance navigation, end-of-life care planning, appointment chaperoning (available in-person within New York or otherwise virtually) and clinical trial location.

Aimee is a proud member of National Association of Healthcare Advocacy (NAHAC) and the Alliance of Professional Health Advocates (APHA). She resides in Manhattan and enjoys exploring the rich cultural opportunities that the city has to offer while also remaining committed to a variety of philanthropic causes.
